2012 Summer
Hikes
Summer
hikes are scheduled from May to mid
October. Participants meet at the southwest
corner of the Smith's Marketplace parking lot at 750
North Main Street in Logan, Utah. Meeting times
are specified by the hike leader. Participants should
bring food, water, appropriate clothing, and a
donation for gas if carpooling
It
is the participant’s responsibility
to be sure the trip is within his/her ability and
stamina, and to have adequate equipment. In most
cases the hiker should be prepared with sturdy boots,
hat, first aid kit, rain protection, insect repellant,
extra clothing, food, water, and optional hiking
poles. Contact the trip leader for more information.

The Cache Hikers will host a hike along the
Crimson Trail. This is a moderate loop,
approximately 4.5 miles and 1000 feet elevation gain with
a return on the Riverside Trail. Meet at 8:00 a.m. and

Look-Off Loop |
The Cache Hikers will host a hike from Spring
Hollow to Bridger Look-Off returning along the River
Trail. Except for the first mile, this is an easy
hike of about 4 miles. Meet at 8:00 a.m. with an estimated

Hollow |
The Cache Hikers will host a hike on Sunday up
Leatham Hollow to an overlook of Cache Valley. This
is a moderately strenuous hike of about 2200 feet
elevation gain and 8 miles round trip. Bring a

Fork Sawmill Site |
The Cache Hikers will host a Saturday hike
along Temple Fork to the historic sawmill site. This
is an easy/moderate hike, about 6 miles round-trip and 700
ft elevation gain. Bring a donation for gas if carpooling.

Card
Canyon Loop |
The Cache Hikers will host a loop hike
connecting the east and west Card Canyon trails on
Saturday. Expect wildflowers and unusual rock
formations on this moderately strenuous 7- mile hike with
2400 feet elevation gain. Meet at 8:00 a.m. and
expect to return about 3:00 p.m. |

Maintenance Training |
The
Cache Hikers will participate in a trail maintenance
activity Saturday at Spring Hollow. Forest Service
employees will provide information and training on trail
maintenance, and volunteers will have the opportunity to
"Adopt-a-Trail". Optional light trail maintenance in
Card Canyon following the FS training. Meet 8:30 a.m. and
expect to return after 2:00 p.m. |

Fork to Spawn Creek "four springs" loop

Cache Hikers will host a loop hike from Temple Fork to
Spawn Creek on Saturday. This is a strenuous,
all-day hike of about 12 miles, including several miles of
travel on unmaintained trails as we pass by four different
springs. Bring a donation for gas if carpooling.
Elevation gain is about 2700 feet. Meet at 8:00 a.m.
and plan for a full day. |

Grove to Wood Camp (exploratory) |
The
Cache Hikers will host a hike from Tony Grove to Wood Camp
on Sunday. This is a long, strenuous hike about 15 miles
in length with 3000 feet of elevation. About half the
route will be off-trail or unmaintained trails. Car
shuttle. Bring a donation for gas if carpooling. Meet at
7:30 a.m., carry plenty of water and plan for a full day. |

Jardine |

Cache Hikers will host a hike on Saturday to Mt. Jardine
from Green Canyon. This strenuous hike up Mt.
Jardine’s south slope includes a 1.5 mile off-trail
section, an elevation gain of 3200 feet and a round trip
total of about 8 miles. Bring food, water, and
sturdy boots. Meet at 8:00 a.m. and expect to return about
5:00 p.m. |

Hiker activities are open to the public - the Cache
