Description

This is a popular recreation area, with easy access from North Logan. Drive east on 1900 North to the parking area 1/2 mile from the canyon mouth. This single-track trail offers an interesting route for non-motorized travelers as it parallels the road up the canyon. Forest Service amenities includes a number of minimally developed campsites and a group camp area, parking areas and pit toilets.

The Green Canyon Trail was constructed over a period several years in the 2000s with the help of volunteer labor. Mountain bikers, hikers and equestrians make good use of the trail in the summer, with skiers, snowshoers and recently, fat-tire bikers, in the winter.

Other Green Canyon attractions include:

  • The Bierdneau Trail, from the Preston Valley Trailhead to Bierdneau Peak and upper Green Canyon
  • The Mt. Naomi Peak National Recreation Trail (NRT) to Mt. Elmer, Tony Grove and beyond
  • The Bonneville Shoreline Trail, running south from the mouth of Green Canyon
  • King's Park, a community recreation area developed at the mouth of Green Canyon by the City of North Logan
  • A commercial yurt operation
