Jardine Juniper, 13 July 2019
Eight hikers and Jasper the dog started an out and back hike to the Jardine Juniper, but became a group of ten when Tawnya and Lexi caught us at the bench.
The temperature was unexpectedly mild as we benefited from a layer of high clouds protecting us from direct sun. We enjoyed a rich assortment of wild flowers and beautiful views across the canyon to a partially snow covered Mount Logan.
Trip Summary:
- Ten Hikers: Kathy, Bree, Matt, Jim, Gordon, Jane, Deanna (with Jasper the Dog), Tawnya, Lexi, Brent (leader)
- Left trailhead near Wood Camp at 8:35
- Lunch at the tree from 11:20-11:50
- Back to the trailhead at 2:00 and Logan at 2:30
- Cloudy skies and comfortable temperatures
- 10 miles with 2100 feet of ascent and descent
