Murray Farm Trailhead Hike, 10 May, 2026
Eleven Cache Hikers drove to the Murray Farm Trailhead for a short Mother’s Day hike.
We started up Narrow Canyon under cool, sunny skies and a light breeze. We were pleased to find the trail slightly damp, providing stable footing and no dust,
We climbed to a service road at the top of Narrow Canyon, then a bit farther to the intersection with Rattlesnake Canyon and the Wellsville Ridge Trail. We worked our way up the Wellsville Ridge Trail to the top of Wide Canyon and the highest point of the day.
We took a 35 minute break for lunch before descending Wide Canyon to complete our loop.
The mountains were lush and green this week. We enjoyed seeing blue flax, wild rose, glacier lilies, arnica and miner’s lettuce along the way.

Trip Summary:
- 11 hikers: Kamren, Susan, Lin, Jacob, Catherine, Dan, Stephanie, Stevie, Ocean, Madhaven, Brent L.(leader).
- Drove 12 miles to the Murray Farm Trailhead
- On the trail at 8:45am, lunch at the junction of Wellsville Ridge and Wide Canyon Trails 10:40-11:15, back to the cars at 1:00pm
- Hiked 4.9 miles with 1400 feet of ascent.
