2016 Winter Activity Schedule

Winter trips
are scheduled from January to mid-March.  Visitors are welcome!

Meet 10:00 a.m.
at the southwest corner of the Smith's Marketplace parking lot at 750 North Main Street in Logan, Utah unless specified otherwise.   The trip leader determines the anticipated return time and any need to alter plans, if necessary. 

Prepare for the activity: 
Bring food, water, extra clothing, and a donation for gas if carpooling.  Make sure your equipment is adequate and that you have the skill and stamina necessary for the trip.

16 January, 2016 Ski/Snowshoe to Limber Pine The Cache Hikers will host a winter trip on the Limber Pine Trail on Saturday. Ski/Snowshoe in Amazon Hollow The Cache Hikers will host a winter trip in the North Fork of Amazon Hollow on Sunday. This is an easy/moderate snowshoe or cross-country ski activity, about 4 miles, with 500 ft. elevation gain and a beautiful high elevation trek with great views of Beaver Mt. and peaks to the west, and an expected return about 4:00 pm. Nordic Skiing at Sink Hollow

The Cache Hikers will host a winter trip to Sink Hollow/Beaver Bottoms on Sunday. This is an easy/moderate ski activity on a groomed Nordic trail over gentle terrain, 4 to 8 miles, as desired, with an expected return about 4:00 pm. The trail is groomed by Nordic United, www.nordicunited.org (donations are encouraged).

Moonlight Ski/Snowshoe in Franklin Basin

The Cache Hikers will host a winter moonlight excursion in Franklin Basin on Saturday.  This is an easy snowshoe or cross-country ski activity, about 5 miles round trip.  Meet 6:00 p.m. at the southwest corner of the Smith's Marketplace parking lot at 750 North Main Street, with an expected return about 11:00 pm.  Bring a headlamp/flashlight, warm drink, and warm clothing and a donation for gas if carpooling.

27 February, 2016 Ski and Soak at Maple Grove Hot Springs The Cache Hikers will host a cross-country ski/snowshoe trip at Maple Grove Hot Springs, maplegrovesprings.com, on Saturday. This is an easy cross-country ski or snowshoe along the river, then soak in the hot pools. Bring a swimsuit, towel and $8 for admission, a donation for gas if carpooling and a potluck dish for lunch. Expected return about 4:00 p.m.

6 March, 2016 Ski/Snowshoe in Franklin Basin The Cache Hikers will host a winter trip in Franklin Basin on Sunday. This is a strenuous cross-country ski or snowshoe activity, about 4.5 miles with 1200 feet of elevation gain and an expected return about 4:30 pm..
