Summer Hikes
Summer hikes are scheduled from May to
mid-October. Participants meet at the southwest corner of the Smith's
Marketplace parking lot at 750 North Main Street in Logan, Utah.
Participants should bring food, water, appropriate clothing, and a donation
for gas and parking fees, where applicable.
It is the participants responsibility to be sure the trip is within
his/her ability and stamina, and to have adequate equipment. In most
cases the hiker should be prepared with sturdy boots, hat, first aid kit,
rain protection, insect repellent, extra clothing, food, water, and optional

The Cache Hikers will host
an easy 3-mile hike on Saturday, along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail from
Providence Canyon to Logan Dry Canyon, with an optional extension to Logan
Canyon or beyond. Meet at 8:00 a.m. with an estimated return about noon. Car
shuttle required. |

City Creek
|
The Cache Hikers will host a Saturday hike up City Creek
near Richmond. This is a moderately strenuous hike, about 9 miles with 2500
feet of elevation. Expect springs, deep conifer forest, creek crossings, open
meadow, wildflowers and views along this seldom-used trail. Meet at 8:00 a.m.
with an estimated return about 6:00 p.m.

The Cache Hikers will host a Sunday hike from Spring
Hollow to Bridger Look-Off. Except for a steep half-mile section, this is a
mostly-easy 3-mile hike with about 800 feet of elevation. The trail passes a
gushing spring, wildflowers and good views of Logan Canyon. Meet at 8:00 a.m.
with an estimated return about noon.

The Cache Hikers will host a Sunday hike to the Jardine
Juniper. This moderate/moderately strenuous 10-mile hike gradually gains 1900
feet to the famous 1500-year-old Rocky Mountain Juniper tree, with
wildflowers and canyon views along the way. Meet at 8:00 a.m. and expect to
return about 3:00 p.m.

Richards Hollow/Card Canyon |
The Cache Hikers will host a Saturday hike between
Richards Hollow and West Card Canyon. This scenic route follows a section of
the Great Western Trail, with waterfalls, meadows, beaver dams, forest, and
perhaps some stream crossings. Expect a moderately strenuous hike, about 11
miles and 2500 ft. elevation gain. Meet at 8:00 a.m. and expect to return
about 5:00 p.m. Key exchange or car shuttle required. |

Beirdneau Peak |
The Cache Hikers will host a Sunday hike to Beirdneau
Peak. This is a strenuous hike, about 10 miles and 3300 feet of elevation.
Expect great views and wildflowers along this lesser-used trail. Meet at 8:00

Sunday hike along Temple Fork to the historic sawmill site and to see the terrain that would be lost if the proposed Temple Fork dam is built. This is an
easy/moderate hike with wildflowers and beaver dams, about 6 miles round-trip
and 700 ft. elevation gain. Meet at 8:00 a.m. and expect to return about 3:00
p.m.

Naomi Peak |
The Cache Hikers will host a hike to Naomi Peak on Sunday.
This is a moderately strenuous 6.5 mile round trip with an elevation gain about 1900 feet
to the highest peak in the Bear River Range. Enjoy views from the summit and
wildflowers and birds along the way. Meet at 8:00 a.m. with an expected
return about 4:00 p.m. (optional extension with off-trail travel and a delayed
return).

City of Rocks |
The Cache Hikers will travel to southern Idaho for a
Saturday hike in the City of Rocks. Enjoy scenic views, interesting rock
formations, pioneer history and optional camping. This is a moderately
strenuous loop hike, about 10 miles and 1500 feet of elevation gain, with
optional car camping. Meet at 8:00 a.m. with an expected return about 8:00 p.m.
(long car trip).

Bloomington Lakes |
The Cache Hikers will host a Sunday hike via Danish Pass
and the Highline Trail. Located entirely within Idaho, expect good views to
the east, west, and looking down over Bloomington Lakes. This is a strenuous
hike of 11 miles round trip and 1500 elevation gain. Meet at 8:00 a.m. and
expect to return about 6:00 p.m. |

White Pine Lake on Sunday. This is a moderate hike of approximately 8 miles

White Canyon/ High Creek |
The Cache Hikers will host a Sunday hike between White
Canyon and the North Fork of High Creek. Hikers will travel in opposite
directions, meeting in the middle for lunch. This is a strenuous hike over
infrequently traveled trails, about 10 miles with 1500-3000 feet elevation
gain and descent, depending on the starting location. Meet at 8:00 a.m. and
expect to return about 6:00 p.m. Car shuttle or key exchange required. |

The Cache Hikers will host a Saturday hike to Peter Sinks.
Formed when underground limestone dissolved, this large bowl-shaped
depression can be one of the coldest locations in the U.S. The route follows
the Great Western Trail, from Stump Hollow to the Forestry Camp via the
Turkey Trail. This is a strenuous 12-mile hike, with 1400 feet elevation gain
and a descent of 2200 ft. Meet at 8:00 a.m. and expect to return about 6:00
p.m. Car shuttle required. |

Creek via Tony Grove and White Pine Canyon. This moderately strenuous hike

gain. Two lakes, peak views, and fall colors should make an interesting day.

Ephraim's Grave |
The Cache Hikers will host a Sunday hike to Ephraim’s
Grave, the monument to the last grizzly bear in the Bear River Range. Enjoy
fall colors as we follow the Willow Creek, Ephraim’s Cut-Off and Steel Hollow
trails. This strenuous trip is a 12 mile loop with 2500 feet elevation gain.
Meet at 8:00 a.m. and expect to return about 6:00 p.m. |

the Cache Hikers sponsor summer hiking and winter ski and snowshoe events in
Cache Valley, Utah. Cache Hiker activities are open to the public - the
Cache Hikers do not have formal membership rolls or dues.
