2025 Winter Activity Schedule
 
Winter trips are scheduled from January to mid-March. Visitors are welcome!

Meet 10:00 a.m.
at the southwest corner of the Smith's Marketplace parking lot at 750 North Main Street in Logan, Utah unless specified otherwise. The trip leader determines the anticipated return time and any need to alter plans, if necessary.

Prepare for the activity:
Bring food, water, and extra clothing. Make sure your equipment is adequate and that you have the skill and stamina necessary for the trip, and consider a donation for gas if carpooling. Trail crampons ("cleats" or "spikes") may be useful if conditions are not suitable for skis or snowshoes.

The Cache Hikers will host a winter trip to Sink Hollow and the Idaho Border on Sunday. at Frankin Basin Winter Trailhead
The Cache Hikers will host a winter event in Smithfield Canyon on Sunday. This is an easy snowshoe or moderate cross-country ski activity along Summit Creek, about 5 miles round trip and 650 at Fanklin Basin Winter Trailhead, along the upper Logan River to Hansen Hollow, about 4 miles round trip and 300 feet of elevation, with an expected return about 3:00 p.m. (Changed on day of event due to poor conditions in Smithfield Canyon)

Ski/Snowshoe at Tony Grove Creek
The Cache Hikers will host a winter trip to Tony Grove Creek on Sunday. This is a moderate snowshoe/cross-country ski activity, about 5 miles round trip with 900 feet of elevation as we follow Tony Grove Creek along an old roadway, with an expected return about 3:00 p.m.

Ski/Snowshoe at White Pine Ridge
The Cache Hikers will host a winter trip to White Pine Ridge on Sunday. This is a moderately strenuous cross-country ski or snowshoe activity, about 5 miles with 800 feet of elevation gain. The route climbs southwest to the ridge, with views of upper Logan Canyon and lower White Pine creek, and an expected return about 4:00 p.m.

The Cache Hikers will host a winter trip from the Logan Canyon “UDOT Sheds” on Sunday. This is a moderate snowshoe or cross-country ski activity of 3 miles and 500 feet of elevation, ascending the east side of Amazon Hollow and returning via the groomed Swan Flat forest road, with an expected return about 3:00 p.m. Susan, 435-770-2478, email Susan
9 March, 2025 (Sunday) Snowshoe at Mill Hollow The Cache Hikers will host a winter trip to Mill Hollow on Sunday. This moderate, 4.5-mile snowshoe hike follows the Spring Hollow, River, Bridger Look-Off, and Mill Hollow trails in a loop hike with a gain of about 1000 feet of elevation. Moonlight Ski/Snowshoe at Murray Farm
The Cache Hikers will host winter moonlight excursion from the Murray Farm Trailhead on Friday evening. This is an easy snowshoe or moderate ski activity, about 3 miles with 500 feet of elevation, to a point overlooking Cache Valley.  Bring a headlamp/flashlight, warm drink and warm clothing. Meet 6:00 p.m. at the southwest corner of the Smith's Marketplace parking lot, 750 North Main Street, with an expected return by 11:00 p.m. (Moonrise 8:15 pm)
