Winter trips are scheduled
from January to mid-March. Visitors are welcome!
Meet 10:00 a.m. at the southwest
corner of the Smith's Marketplace parking lot at 750
North Main Street in Logan, Utah unless specified
otherwise. The trip leader determines the
anticipated return time and any need to alter plans, if
necessary.
Prepare for the activity: Bring food,
water, and extra clothing. Make sure your equipment is
adequate and that you have the skill and stamina
necessary for the trip, and consider a donation for gas
if carpooling. Trail crampons ("cleats" or
"spikes") may be useful if conditions are not suitable
for skis or snowshoes.

Snowshoe
or boot on the Blacksmith Fork River Trail
The
Cache Hikers will host a winter trip to Blacksmith
Fork on Thursday, January 1, 2026 (New Years Day).
This is an easy snowshoe or boot activity (trail crampons
are advised if conditions are icy), about 5 miles round
trip and 300 feet of elevation. This trail follows the
south side of Blacksmith Fork River, with an expected
return about 2:00 p.m.
The
Cache Hikers will host a winter trip at Stump
Hollow on Sunday. This is a moderate cross-country
ski or snowshoe event, about 4 miles round trip and 600
feet of elevation, with an expected return about 3:00 p.m.
The
Cache Hikers will host a winter trip at Bunchgrass
Creek on Sunday. This is a moderate snowshoe or
moderately-challenging cross-country ski event, about 5
miles round trip and 800 feet of elevation along
Bunchgrass Creek, with an expected return about 3:00 p.m.
The
Cache Hikers will host a winter trip to Sink
Hollow and the Idaho Border on Sunday. This is a
moderate snowshoe or cross-country ski activity, about 5
miles round trip and 500 feet of elevation, mostly through
forested terrain, with an expected return about 3:00 p.m.
The
Cache Hikers will host a winter event in Logan
Dry Canyon on Sunday. This is a moderate
snowshoe activity, about 5 miles round trip and 1700 feet
of elevation, with an expected return about 3:00 p.m.
The Cache Hikers will host a
winter moonlight excursion inFranklin Basinon
Saturday. This is an easy snowshoe or cross-country ski
activity, about 4 miles round trip and 300 feet of
elevation.Meet
5:00 p.m., with an expected return
about 10:00 pm. Bring a headlamp/flashlight, warm drink
and warm clothing. (Moonrise 4:22 p.m.)
The Cache Hikers will host a winter
event inSmithfield Canyonon Sunday. This
is a moderate snowshoe or cross-country ski activity
along Summit Creek, about 5 miles round trip and 650
feet of elevation, with an expected return about 3:00
p.m
The
Cache Hikers will host a winter trip to the ridge west of
Stump Hollow. This is a strenuous snowshoe activity,
about 5 miles round trip and 1000 feet of elevation, with
an expected return about 4:30 p.m.
The
Cache Hikers will host a winter trip at Bear
Lake Overlook on Sunday. This is a moderate
snowshoe/cross-country ski activity, about 3 miles round
trip and 300 feet of elevation to the Old Limber Pine via
Bear Lake Overlook and Sunrise Campground, with an
expected return about 3:30 p.m.
The
Cache Hikers will host winter moonlight excursion from the
Murray
Farm Trailhead on Saturday evening. This is an easy
snowshoe or moderate ski activity, about 3 miles with 500
feet of elevation, to a point overlooking Cache
Valley. Bring a headlamp/flashlight, warm drink and
warm clothing. Meet 6:00 p.m., with an expected return by
11:00 p.m. (Moonrise 3:19 pm)
The
Cache Hikers will host a winter trip to at Spring
Hollow on Sunday. This moderate, 4.5-mile snowshoe
hike follows the Spring Hollow, River, Bridger Look-Off,
and Mill Hollow trails in a loop hike with a gain of about
1000 feet of elevation. Walk through aspens, firs, maples
and meadows, with views of the China Wall cliffs and Logan
Canyon, with an expected return about 2:30 p.m.

Cache Hikers will host a winter trip to Tony
Grove Creek on Sunday. This is a moderate
snowshoe/cross-country ski activity, about 5 miles round
trip with 900 feet of elevation as we follow Tony Grove
Creek along an old roadway, with an expected return about
3:00 p.m.
