Access
via the Smithfield Canyon Road (begins at 300 East and 50
South in Smithfield, UT). Winter trips start at the parking area and gate at the forest boundary (41.8695, -111.7571). The summer trailhead, (41.8821, -111.7207), with an informative kiosk, parking area and gate, is another 2.3 miles up the canyon. The trail enters the Mount
Naomi Wilderness after 1.4 miles and joins the Mount Naomi Peak NRT 5.3 miles from the summer trailhead. Destinations
from here include Tony Grove and Green Canyon.
